ORF Sustainability

Climate neutrality and decarbonization are not only an issue for the manufacturing industry and the service sector but also for public-service broadcasting institutions, such as the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, ORF. As the first media company in the country, ORF presented a sustainability report in 2012, initiating a company-wide process towards sustainable development. Furthermore, since 2021, ORF is partner of the “klimaaktiv Pakt”, along with currently twelve other Austrian major companies.

As a socially responsible company, ORF not only contributes to the sustainable and barrier-free development of society through its programs and offerings but also demonstrates its social commitment through charity initiatives such as LICHT INS DUNKEL, NACHBAR IN NOT, ÖSTERREICH HILFT ÖSTERREICH and MUTTER ERDE – the ORF serves as a media platform for these initiatives, providing free airtime for calls for donations.

Furthermore, the most popular radio station, Hitradio Ö3, supports the platform „Team Österreich“, which offers and coordinates voluntary help in disaster situations.
